Obviously kids want some sort of communication platform. I did at their age, and I didn't want my parents able to immediatly look up everything I ever said, no matter how innocent.

To me this is like meeting up with people in a crowded square to chat. It's not private chat really, but nobody will track it if they simply don't know where to look and aren't looking.

Listen kids, back in the days we had comment sections on everything. Sometimes you didn't even have to log in. The internet wasn't this club of psychopaths who went out of their way to prevent the world from seeing what you wrote. I once had a super low effort blog with over a million views where my best post was a single sentence: "is this thing on?" which generated countless responses. I mostly didn't even bother to read them, I click on their username which took me to their own weblog where they described the events of the day and pondered the big questions in life like if there should be raisins in apple pie. I exchanged comments with a lady twice my age who officially sold art and had a blog full of nice art works. Unofficially she made ends meet by packing many fantastic lunches for working folk and she filled her house with useless men[sic] she found by the side of the road, the men sat around all day in her living room chatting and not doing much of anything, like pets or ornaments, she gave them a bed and food and she wasn't even mad. A heroic effort.
